As a freshman on Shaw High School’s track & field team, Ahmaud set new school records in the 100 meters (10.8 seconds) and the 200 meters (21.72 seconds). He won the 200 in the Columbus city championships..
We invited the athletics director at each public and private high school in Muscogee County, Harris County, Chattahoochee County, Phenix City, Russell County and Smiths Station to nominate a male athlete for this poll.
Among this week’s two nominees, Ahmaud received 73% of the 132 votes from our readers. Voting started Monday and ended at noon Friday. The poll has no limit on the number of times a person can vote. Here are the complete final results:
