Muscogee school police investigating Northside vs. Shaw football postgame fights
The Muscogee County School District Police Department is investigating an altercation that resulted in multiple fights between players on the field after a high school football game Friday night.
Videos posted on social media show the incident occurred while the teams lined up for postgame handshakes following Northside’s season-opening 31-8 victory over Shaw at Kinnett Stadium in Columbus.
“Coaches and coaching staff intervened quickly to bring the situation under control,” MCSD said in a news release Saturday. “… Appropriate disciplinary action will be taken upon the conclusion of the investigation. Any actions that do not align with the District’s mission, vision, values, or the Georgia High School Association (GHSA) guidelines will not be tolerated.”
