The Ledger-Enquirer High School Athlete of the Week poll winner is . . .
Anna Do is the Ledger-Enquirer High School Athlete of the Week, based on our online poll.
As a senior setter on the St. Anne-Pacelli Catholic School volleyball team, Anna notched her 3,000th career assist Oct. 7. She is ranked No. 8 in the nation and No. 1 in Georgia this season for total assists, according to coach Kristin Trotter. And she was named the Georgia Independent Athletic Association Region Player of the Year, helping lead the Vikings to their second straight GIAA state title Oct. 11.
“Anna’s talent, leadership, and hard work have made a tremendous impact on our volleyball program,” Trotter said in an email to the Ledger-Enquirer. “Her achievements are a testament to her dedication and skill on the court.”
Each week’s poll will close at noon Friday. The Ledger-Enquirer will announce the winner on our social media accounts.
We invited the athletics director at each public and private high school in Muscogee County, Harris County, Chattahoochee County, Phenix City, Russell County and Smiths Station to nominate students for this poll.
Among this week’s five nominees, Anna received 58% of the 17,360 votes from our readers. Voting started Tuesday and ended at noon Friday. The poll has no limit on the number of times a person can vote. Here are the complete final results:
