The Ledger-Enquirer High School Girls Athlete of the Week poll winner is . . .
Alazia Marshall is the Ledger-Enquirer High School Girls Athlete of the Week, based on our online poll.
As a senior on the Russell County High School cheerleading team, Alazia “brings unmatched energy, precision and dedication to the cheer mat,” coach Akeshia Valrie told the Ledger-Enquirer in an email. “Alazia gives her all during every practice, pep rally and performance, setting the tone for the rest of the team with her discipline and drive. Her growth this season has been nothing short of impressive, and her attitude continues to lift the team higher.”
We invited the athletics director at each public and private high school in Muscogee County, Harris County, Chattahoochee County, Phenix City, Russell County and Smiths Station to nominate a female athlete for this poll.
Among this week’s four nominees, Alazia received 50% of the 13,822 votes from our readers. Voting started Monday and ended at noon Friday. The poll has no limit on the number of times a person can vote. Here are the complete final results:
