They helped Columbus area teams win state titles. Now, see them play on national TV
Shur’Kiyah “KK” Jackson, a St.. Anne-Pacelli Catholic School senior, played wide receiver for Pacelli’s state championship flag football team during the 2025 season. Colby Cook, a wide receiver for Central Phenix City, helped the Red Devils win an Alabama flag football state title as well.
Now, they will play on national TV.
They are among the 32 players who will compete Feb. 3, starting at 6:30 p.m., in the NFL Flag Football Girls High School Showcase at the 2026 Pro Bowl Games in San Francisco. The game will be broadcast on ESPN.
Jackson was Pacelli’s only senior on the 22-player roster. She impressed head coach Zach Corcoran with her ability to transition from a blocker to a playmaker.
“She was clearly talented, but she just waited her turn and never complained,” he told the Ledger-Enquirer in November, “and she just worked so hard.”
For the fourth straight year, the Pacelli flag football program brought a Georgia Independent Athletic Association state championship banner back to Columbus. Pacelli dominated the title game at Cavalier Fields in Macon, shutting out Mount de Sales Academy 20-0 to finish the season 19-1.
Jackson averaged 78.5 receiving yards per game and caught 30 touchdown passes this past season. After moving to Columbus from Tifton as a sophomore, this was her third state championship with the program.
And she received one for the thumb because she is a shooting guard in the Pacelli girls basketball program that won GIAA state titles this year and last year.
“Winning all these rings to fill up my hand, it’s really exciting,” she told the Ledger-Enquirer. “But it’s also a little bittersweet this year because I’m gonna miss my teammates a lot.”
Tuesday, Corcoran said he will gather the rest of the team together to watch Jackson play on national TV.
“It’s exciting for our program that we’re getting recognized on the national scale,” he said. “We’ve had a great season, and KK had a amazing season with her production and how she led us as our only senior and captain. So super-proud of her and proud to support her.”
The Central Red Devils went 20-0 this past year, completing their third straight undefeated season and extending their winning streak to 57 games as they won their third consecutive Alabama High School Athletic Association state championship.
Central finished ranked No. 1, and Pacelli was ranked No. 17, in the USA Today Sports Super 25 Girls Flag Football final rankings for the 2025 season.
The Ledger-Enquirer didn’t reach Central flag football head coach Mitchell Holt before publication, but Corcoran noted the honor of having two players from the Columbus area play in this prestigious game.
“We have other players close to us that are deserving as well, so there’s lots of great flag football teams in the area and some great players,” he said. “I think it’s really cool to see two players from right here be selected with all those players in the nation.”
