Victorious Dunovant is the Ledger-Enquirer High School Girls Athlete of the Week, based on our online poll.
As a senior defender on the Chattahoochee County High School girls soccer team, Victorious played every minute of the season through the first eight games — all wins — and helped the Panthers hold opponents to less than 1 goal per game.
We invited the athletic directors at each public and private high school in Muscogee County, Harris County, Chattahoochee County, Phenix City, Russell County and Smiths Station to nominate an athlete for the poll.
Among this week’s three nominees, Victorious received 57% of the 5,400 votes from our readers. Voting started Monday and ended at noon Friday. The poll has no limit on the number of times a person can vote. Here are the complete final results:
