Millie Holbrook is the Ledger-Enquirer High School Girls Athlete of the Week, based on our online poll.
As a freshman on the Brookstone School girls golf team, Millie plays as the Cougars’ top seed: She shot a 75 to win low medalist during the April 6-7 Northside Invitational at Bull Creek. She also:
- Shot a 77 to win low medalist March 21 during the Parkview Invitational at Stone Mountain.
- Shot a 77 March 14 at the Maple Ridge tournament.
- Finished as the low scorer March 5 at the Strong Rock match.
- Shot a 69 to win first place March 3 at the Brookstone Invitational as a two-person team.
- Finished as the low scorer with a 36 Feb. 26 at the Northside match.
We invited the athletic directors at each public and private high school in Muscogee County, Harris County, Chattahoochee County, Phenix City, Russell County and Smiths Station to nominate an athlete for the poll.
Among this week’s three nominees, Millie received 60% of the 13,335 votes from our readers. Voting started Monday and ended at noon Friday. The poll has no limit on the number of times a person can vote. Here are the complete final results:
