Millie Holbrook is the Ledger-Enquirer High School Girls Spring Sports Athlete of the Year for the Columbus area, based on our online poll.
As a freshman on the Brookstone School girls golf team, Millie shot a 79 to win the Georgia Independent Athletic Association region title and a 78 to place in the top six at the state championship. She was the low scorer/medalist at five other tournaments this season.
The nomination emailed to the L-E from Brookstone assistant athletics director Taylor Britt includes this endorsement: “Millie continues to have a steady grip on her game. In spite of the pressure as a freshman, she has come back from 4-over holes to birdie the next. Her scoring impact for the team is of course significant, and so is her impact with her team. Millie is so positive with the other players as they learn the game and continue to improve over the season.”
The winners of each Ledger-Enquirer High School Girls Athlete of the Week poll during the 2026 spring sports season were eligible to be nominated by an official from their school.
Voting was open from May 11 to May 22. L-E readers could vote as many times as they wanted. They didn’t have to be a subscriber to vote, but subscribers could vote more often.
