High school softball roundup: Columbus, Brookstone, Harris County all win
Columbus struck for a pair of runs in the top of the first inning and went on to beat Northside 2-1 on Thursday in a Region 1-AAAAA contest.
Derykah Ray led off with a single. Raleigh Williams followed with a triple to right, scoring Ray. Williams then scored on a bunt single by Erin Smith.
Kaleigh Sullivan made that two-run lead hold up, as she allowed just one run on five hits in seven innings. She struck out six.
Ciara Jesus had a double and drove in Northside's lone run in the third inning.Thursday at Northside

Katherine Snavely went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored to lead Brookstone to a 10-2 victory over Shaw on Thursday.
Helen Snavely picked up the win on the mound as she allowed just a pair of unearned runs. She struck out 10 in the game that was shortened to six innings due to the mercy rule.Thursday at Brookstone

HARRIS CO. 15, HARDAWAY 0
HAMILTON, Ga. -- Lilly Hooper went 3-for-3 with a pair of doubles and drove in three runs to lead Harris County to a 15-0 win over Hardaway on Thursday.
It was the season-opener for Harris County. The game was stopped after three innings due to the mercy rule.
Carson Anderson also had a pair of doubles and two RBIs for the Lady Tigers.
Brooke Wakenigg earned the win, limiting Hardaway to just one hit.Thursday at Harris County
