High school softball roundup: George, Chadwick lead Northside past LaGrange

Hannah George and Jada Chadwick hit triples as Northside rolled over LaGrange 9-1 in a Region 1-AAAAA game on Tuesday.

The game was shortened to five innings due to the mercy rule.

Kennedi Bedell, Madison Causey and George finished with two hits apiece.

Allison Sievers picked up the win. She went all five innings and allowed just one run on two hits and struck out eight.

Derykah Ray hit a homer, a double and drove in three runs to lead Columbus to a Region 1-AAAAA victory over Shaw on Tuesday at Lakebottom.

Rowan Stucky also had a pair of hits and drove in three. Marlisa Scott and Lindsey Sanders knocked in two runs apiece. Nicole Humphries had a pair of hits.

Emily Carter picked up her first win and Ayanna Walker had a double Tuesday to lead Jordan to a win over Southwest Macon in a game shortened by the mercy rule.

Jacinda Drayton also had a hit and Kiana Walker stole five bases in the game.
