Green, Santiago power Calvary Christian past Fullington

Jacquez Green and Anthony Santiago each ran for two touchdowns Friday night as Calvary Christian routed Fullington 37-0.

Calvary (2-0) averaged almost 10 yards a carry, rushing for 386 yards on 39 attempts.

Green got the Knights on the board on an 80-yard touchdown run with 6:42 left in the first quarter. Thomas Chappel added the extra point for a 7-0 lead.

Green had 11 carries for 171 yards in the game.

The Knights proved effective in the passing game as well. Quarterback Kasen Andrews hit Cody Russell midway through the second quarter on a 47-yard touchdown pass to put Calvary up 13-0. The PAT failed after a bad snap.

Andrews went 5-for-12 for 96 yards in the air, giving the Knights 482 yards of total offense.

As time expired in the first half, Chappel booted a 28 field goal to give Calvary a 16-0 lead.

Santiago, who rushed 18 times for 135 yards, scored on runs of 20 yards and 1 yard to build the lead to 30-0 by early in the fourth quarter.

Green closed out the scoring with a 17-yard run with 3:30 left in the game.

The Knights defense held Fullington to 24 yards rushing and 59 yards passing.

Green also intercepted a pass in the end zone during the third quarter to thwart the only red-zone threat by Fullington.Friday at FullingtonCalvary 7 9 7 14--37
