Smiths Station improves to 2-0 with victory over Dothan

Smiths Station improved to 2-0 with a 31-28 win over Dothan on Friday night.

The Panthers rallied twice in the first quarter after Dothan took 7-point leads.

Quarterback Dalton Sinquefield scored his first touchdown on a 72-yard run with 7:20 left in the first quarter to even the game at 7.

Sinquefield hit Austin Taylor with a TD pass to tie the game at 14 with just 52 seconds left.

Sinquefield ran in from 23 yards out with five minutes to go in the second quarter as the Panthers took a 21-14 lead into halftime.

Chauncey Garrison scored on a run in the third quarter for a 28-14 lead.

After Dothan scored to close to within seven, 28-21, Harrison Jones kicked a 38-yard field as Smiths Station went ahead 31-21 with 2:35 left in the third quarter.

Dothan scored again in the fourth quarter to pull within three, 31-28.
