Carver drops first of season at Creekside
FAIRBURN, Ga. -- Creekside scored 24 points in the third quarter en route to a 51-20 victory over Carver on Friday night at Arrowhead Stadium.
Felix Harper threw three touchdown passes in the first half, two to Khalil McClain. The other one to Tysean Carter.
Sabree Curtis scored three touchdowns in the third quarter, including a long kickoff return.
Carver quarterback Jawon Pass scored Carver's first touchdown in the first quarter to cut the deficit to 1, 7-6.
Creekside led 20-6 at halftime.
Carver made a run in the second half. Kameron McFolley returned the opening kickoff 50 yards to the Creekside 32-yard line. On the second play, Pass hit Julian Robinson on a short throw, and Robinson found his way into the end zone to make it 20-12.
After a Creekside field goal, Pass threw an interception, one of three in the game. Haroper hit Curtis on a touchdown pass for a 30-12 lead.
After Creekside scored again, Cameron Jessie scored for carver. Pass ran in the 2-point conversion to cut the deficit to 17, 37-20.
Curtis returned the kickoff to give Creekside a 44-20 lead.
Curtis added a 50-yard run for a touchdown late in the fourth quarter for a 51-20 lead.
The teams did not play the final 4:38 after a Creekside player was injured and had to be taken off on a stretcher.
Carver is 2-1. The Tigers play next Sept. 18 at Troup.
