Region 1-AAAAA softball tournament starts today at Northside

The Region 1-AAAAA tournament gets underway today at Northside High with a play-in game at 5 p.m.

The No. 6 seed Shaw is playing No. 7 Carver.

The rest of the teams spring into action on Wednesday.

Today's winner plays the third seed, Columbus, at 4 p.m. Also at 4 p.m., No. 4 LaGrange plays No. 5 Hardaway.

The No. 1 seed, Northside, will play at 6 p.m. against the LaGrange-Hardaway winner.

The No. 2 seed, Harris County, will also play at 6 p.m. against the Columbus-LaGrange/Hardaway winner.

The double-elimination tournament continues through Friday.
