Dalton Sinquefield accounts for four TDs as Smiths Station rallies past Jeff Davis

MONTGOMERY, Ala. -- Smiths Station quarterback Dalton Sinquefield threw three touchdown passes and ran for another to lead the Panthers to a 29-26 victory over Jeff Davis on Thursday night at the Crampton Bowl.

The Panthers trailed 7-0 after the first quarter. Harrison Jones kicked a 23-yard field goal to get them on the scoreboard. Sinquefield hit Will Clanton for a 40-yard TD pass and a 10-7 lead.

Jeff Davis scored the next two touchdowns and led 19-10 early in the third quarter.

Sinquefield and Clanton hooked up again, this time from 7 yards out as the Panthers closed to within two, 19-17.

Sinquefield's third TD pass went to K.J. Johnson from 17 yards out. The Panthers' 2-point conversion try failed for a 23-19 lead with 11:04 remaining in the game.

Jeff Davis again took the lead, scoring to go ahead 26-23 with 10:07 left.

Sinquefield ran for a 5-yard TD with 6:16 left to put the Panthers ahead 29-26.

Sinquefield led the Smiths Station offense by passing 22-for-32 for 284 yards with three touchdowns and an interception. He also had nine carries for 11 yards and a touchdown.

Johnson ran 27 times for 160 yards.

Smiths Station is 6-2 overall and 2-2 in Class 7A Region 2. Jeff Davis is 6-2 and 3-2. Smiths Statuon hosts Enterprise on Oct. 16 at 8. Jeff Davis plays at Central on the same date and time.
