Northside boys, Columbus girls win city cross country championships
The Northside boys and the Columbus girls won the Muscogee County School District City Championships on Tuesday at Kinnett Stadium.
Northside had four of the top five finishers to easily win the boys title with 24 points. Columbus was second with 61 while Jordan was third with 98.
Austin Kidd won the boys individual title with a time 16 minutes, 47.05 seconds.
Brookstone's William Jenkins was second at 17:28.49, followed by Jonathan Myrthil (Northside, 17:35.46), Noah Churchwell (Northside, 17:56.40) and Noah Pavlekos (Northside, 17:59.25).
Columbus was nearly as dominant in the girls race taking the top three spots to finish with 31 points. Northside was second with 44 and Shaw had 78.
Hope Skypek won the girls title with a time of 21:02.13, followed by teammates Harper Fine (21:12.37) and Alina Salgado (21:13.04). Northside's Romie Ingram (21:36.07) and Shaw's Semia Houston (22:06.10) rounded out the top five.
