Northside, Columbus win region cross country titles
The Northside boys and the Columbus girls won REgion 1-AAAAA championships Wednesday at Kinnett Stadium.
In the boys race, Northside won with 26 points, followed by Columbus with 45, LaGrange with 83, Harris County with 90 and Hardaway with 114.
LaGrange's Sam Bowie won the individual title with a time of 16 minutes 28.48 seconds.
Northside's Austin Kidd was second at 16:46.06, followed by Columbus' Alex Salgado with a time of 17:38.19.
In the girls race, Columbus won with 30 points, followed by Northside with 39, LaGrange with 77, Harris County with 82 and Hardaway with 138.
LaGrange's Alaina Tomlinson won the individual tiel with a time of 20:16.65.
Columbus teammates Alina Salgado (20:36.31) and Hope Skypek (20:55.60) took second and third.
