Russell County's Roberts throws 5 TDS in 82-36 loss to Beauregard

SEALE, Ala. -- Russell County quarterback Jakwon Roberts threw five touchdown passes and ran for another score, but undefeated Beauregard piled it on Thursday night in an 82-36 rout.

Roberts hit Corey Person on a 20-yard touchdown pass to open the scoring in the first quarter. Beauregard answered with three touchdowns before Roberts hit Demaurio Santana with a 70-yard touchdown pass. Beauregard answered with two more scores and it was 33-12 at the end of the first quarter.

Roberts then hit Santana again for a 25-yard touchdown pass. Roberts later threw touchdown passes of 75 yards and 80 yards to Derrick Harper.

Mike Adams ran for a 40-yard touchdown to close out the scoring with 7:40 left in the game.

Russell County (0-10, 0-7 AHSAA Class 6A Region 2) finished its second consecutive 0-10 season and has now lost 22 in a row.
