Central-Macon's southpaw quarterback Derrick Evans threw for six touchdowns as the Chargers beat Kendrick 52-22 Friday night at Kinnett Stadium.

The victory ensured the Chargers had a winning record at 6-4 and kept their playoff hopes in REgion 2-AAA alive. Kendrick's record ended 3-7 in 2015 in Cedric Ware's first season.

Evans' favorite target was Ivorie Childers, who could not be covered by the Cherokee secondary. Of Evans' six TDs, four of those went to Childers as he caught nine passes for 196 yards. Evans finished the game with 19 completions on 26 attempts for 392 yards.

In the second half, the Cherokees moved players around and were able to find the end zone three times. That was with the help of a wildcat offense run by Robertson, two kickoff returns by Wyndell McGee and a reception by Micah Ransome.

Robertson ran for Kendrick's first score of the game of 2 yards and then ran for a two-point conversion. His jump pass to Austin Watson of 8 yards was a key play.

The Cherokees' two other second-half TDs came on an 89-yard return by McGhee and on a 51-yard reception by Ransome.

Ransome also recovered a fumble. Robertson was the leading rusher in the game for other teams as he had 28 carries of 97 yards.

Evans found Childers twice more in the second half on passes of 28 and 22 yards. The Chargers' only rushing TD of the night was by Antonio Sanders of 42 yards on a draw play in the final period.
