State cross country roundup: Marion County girls finish third

CARROLLTON, Ga. -- The Marion County girls cross country team finished third in the Class A-public school state meet on Saturday with 115 points.

Towns County won with 36 and Commerce was second with 79.

Marion County was led by Katherine Ta, who finished ninth in 25 minutes, 25.04 seconds.

Northside's Austin Kidd finished 10th for the best finish by a boy from the Columbus area. He finished with a time of 17:43.10.

In Class AAA, Spencer's Christopher Gorman was running alone. He finished 116th with a time of 21:04.57.
