Shaw QB B.J. Knight receives Sunday Best honor

Quarterback B.J. Knight ran for four touchdowns and passed for another to lead Shaw to a 45-40 victory over Harris County on Friday night.

What makes the performance even more impressive is that it came in a game the Raiders had to win. With a loss, Shaw's season would have been over.

With the win, the Raiders finished third in Region 1-AAAAA and will take part in a three-team mini-game Monday night to decide the final two berths from the region.

For his performance, he is the Sunday Best performer of the week.

Here is the best of the rest:

Darius Love, Carver, RB: Love rushed for 159 yards and also scored on a 40-yard touchdown pass in the win over Hardaway.

Tyrell Smith, Spencer, RB: Smith scored three touchdowns in the win over Jordan.

Bubba Blackmon, Harris County, RB: Blackmon rushed for 107 yards and a touchdown on 23 carries in a loss against Shaw.

Prather Hudson, Brookstone, Ath: Hudson scored three touchdowns, two on runs and another on an interception return. That was one of two picks he had in the win over Schley County.

Ben Davis, Pacelli, RB: Davis rushed for 100 yards on 16 carries in a win over Taylor County.

Tre Sudbnerry, Pacelli, QB: Sudberry ran for two touchdowns and passed for another in the win over Taylor County.

Lorenzo Smothers, Marion County, Ath: Smothers ran for a touchdown, caught a pass for a score and threw a pass for a score in a win over Central-Talbotton.

Anthony Santiago, Calvary Christian, RB: Santiago rushed for 151 yards in a win over Creekside.

Ashton Bell, Manchester, RB: Bell rushed for 134 yards and two touchdowns in win over Temple.

Denizio Gamble, Manchester, RB: Gamble rushed for 103 yards and two touchdowns.

Kalan Watts, Northside, RB: Watts finished with 131 yards and four touchdowns in win over LaGrange.

Adayus Roibertson, Kendrick, QB: Rushed for 97 yards, a touchdown and a 2-point conversion; Josh Stein, Harris County, WR: Caught a pair of touchdown passes; Jacquez Greene, Calvary Christian, RB: Greene rushed for 74 yards and two touchdowns; David Apiag, Northside, Ath: Had two interceptions; Marcus Eberhart, Northside, Ath: Had two interceptions.
