Prep sports: Harris hosts MLK Classic today

Harris County will host a MLK Classic today, a full day of basketball with 10 games split between the high school and the middle school.

At the middle school, the Columbus boys will play Valley at 11 a.m., followed by the Valley girls against Stockbridge at 12:45 p.m., the Smiths Station boys against Stockbridge at 2:30 p.m. and the Kendrick girls against Smiths Station at 4:15 p.m.

At the high school, the Shaw girls play Manchester at 11 a.m., followed by the Shaw boys against Manchester at 12:45 p.m., the Harris County girls against Houston County at 2:30 p.m., the Northside boys vs. Houston County at 4:15 p.m., the Northside girls vs. Greenville at 6 p.m. and the Harris County boys vs. Greenville at 7:45 p.m.

Tickets are $8 for adults and $6 for students.

Central wrestlers compete in 2016 Southeastern Pools

ALABASTER, Ala. -- Central had six wrestlers finish in the top five in their weight classes on Saturday in the 2016 Southeastern Pools.

Robert Morales had the team's best finish at third in the 152-pound class.

Kristian Scott placed fourth at 138.

Finishing fifth were Studd Morris (106), Maxwell Kauffman (120), Jon Storey (145) and Nathan Spillers (160).

Jones leads Jordan past Peach County

FORT VALLEY, Ga. -- Lederrious Jones scored 28 points to lead Jordan to a 67-65 win over Peach County on Saturday night.
