High school roundup: Glenwood baseball wins pair of games

MONROEVILLE, Ala. -- Daniel Holley threw four innings of no-hit baseball Saturday to lead Glenwood to a 10-1 win over Morgan Academy.

Holley (1-0) struck out seven and had no walks in the win.

Nick Adams went 3-for-4 with an RBI for Glenwood.

In the second game, Chase Dennis went 3-for-3 with three doubles, three runs and three RBIs to lead the Gators to a 14-2 win over Monroe Academy in a game shortened by the mercy rule.

Carson Hicks (2-0) got the win.

Kyle Masse picked up the win, and he also drove in the winning run as Calvary Christian beat Springwood 2-1 on Saturday.

The Knights (1-0) trailed 1-0 heading into the bottom of the sixth inning. Trey Anthony led off with a double. He scored on Garrett McGlamory's double. McGlamory singled on Masse's single.

BUTLER, Ga. -- Greg Howell scored 35 points, including eight 3-pointers, to lead Taylor County to a win over Marion County in the Region 4-A championship game.

John Corbin had 11 points and 22 rebounds. Quinn Daniels pulled down 11 rebounds and scored eight points.

Lorenzo Smothers scored 24 points to lead Marion County.
