High school roundup: Jordan rallies for region win over Peach

Jordan scored three runs in the top of the seventh inning to rally past Peach County 4-2 in a Region 2-3A game on Friday.

Adrian Williams and Hunter Boswell got back-to-back hits after one out. Bryce Long doubled in Williams to tie the game at 2-2.

After John Kropaczewski was intentionally walked, Zach Tice singled in Boswell with the go-ahead run. After another out Sydney Phillips drew a bases-loaded walk to force in the final run.

Long pitched a complete game, allowing two runs — one earned — on four hits.

The loss was the first region defeat of the season for Peach County.

Northside 5, LaGrange 3

Northside scored three runs in the first inning and went on to a 5-3 victory over LaGrange on Friday afternoon.

Kenny Harrell doubled in the first two runs. He later scored on an error.

Jalen Latta pitched four innings and picked up the win. He gave up three runs — two earned — on five hits.

The win keeps Northside tied for first place with Columbus at 5-1 in Region 1-5A. They play at Northside on Tuesday.

Jordan Manibusan outdueled Eric Jenkins on the mound as Hardaway edged Carver 3-2 on Friday.

Jalin Thomas went 2-for-2 with a double and an RBI for Hardaway.

Karim Davis and Demarcus Beachum each went 2-for-3 for Carver. Davis drove in both Carver runs.
