High school roundup: Brookstone tennis teams win area titles

The Brookstone Cougars and Lady Cougars won area tournament championships on Wednesday.

The Cougars won with a 3-2 victory over First Presbyterian, while the Lady Cougars beat Stratford 4-0.

The Cougars will be a No. 1 seed in the upcoming Class A-private school state tournament.

Glenwood competes in state tennis tourney

The Glenwood girls finished third and the boys fourth in the AISA state tennis tournament in Montgomery, Ala., on Tuesday.

Jaylee Sawtelle lost to Maggie Blackwell in the No. 1 singles final. She and Morgan Kinnon lost in the No. 2 doubles final.

Elizabeth Redmon, Abby Redmon, Morgan Kennon and Charley Woodall all lost in the semifinals.

Mason Stickles, Blaine Rosier, James Beck and Hueston Nelson all lost in the boys semifinals.
