High school roundup: Harris County sweeps Carver

Carter McKinstry went 3-for-3 with two doubles, three runs scored and four RBIs to lead Harris County to a 15-0 win in Game 2 of a doubleheader sweep over Carver on Friday.

In the first game, a 12-0 win, Harry Rich had a double and three RBIs.

The wins moved Harris County within a half-game of Columbus for second place in Region 1-5A. Columbus is 11-5, while Harris County is 10-5. Columbus holds the tiebreaker over Harris County.

Calvary splits doubleheader with Ezekiel

Calvary Christian rallied for two runs in the top of the fourth inning Friday and held on to defeat Ezekiel 6-5 and gain a split of their doubleheader in Montgomery, Ala.

Cissy Mills-Wells picked up the win in Game 2 and drove in a run.

In Game 1, Ezekiel defeated Calvary 10-0. Julia Sizemore had the only hit in the game for Calvary Christian.
