Calvary Christian’s season comes to end in Game 3 loss to Thomas Jefferson

The Calvary Christian baseball team lost 8-4 to Thomas Jefferson in Game 3 of their GICAA Division I semifinal series on Saturday.

The loss ended the Knights’ season at 25-8.

Defense was once again a problem for the Knights. They committed two more errors Saturday and allowed five unearned runs.

For the series, they made 11 errors and 16 of the 30 runs Jefferson scored were unearned.

Jefferson scored one run in the first and five more in the second for a 6-0 lead.

The Knights got on the board with a pair of runs in the third. Cody Russell singled in the first run. Christopher Wright singled in the other.

Jefferson increased the lead to 7-2 with a run in the fourth.

Calvary got two more in the fifth. The first came on a Nick Baker homer. Wright followed with a double, and he scored on Kyle Ammons’ single to cut the deficit to three, 7-4.

That was as close as they could get, however.
