Miller, King pace CSU over Albany State in volleyball

The Columbus State volleyball team got off to a fast start Tuesday and defeated Albany State in straight sets at the Lumpkin Center.

CSU (7-3, 0-2 Peach Belt Conference) won 3-0 (25-13, 25-22, 25-13).

Savannah Miller led the Lady Cougars with 11 kills with Megan Frame picking up seven.

Abby King led CSU with five aces and 30 assists.

Caytlin Merritt recorded 16 digs to pace CSU, and Malaisia Stallworth paced the Lady Cougars with four blocks.

CSU returns to Peach Belt Conference play this weekend. The Lady Cougars are at Francis Marion for a 7 p.m. match on Friday and then at UNC Pembroke for a match at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
