Carver loses heartbreaker to Westover in Region 1-4A contest
Westover hit a 40-yard touchdown pass with 47 seconds left to go in the game to rally past Carver 23-20 on Thursday night at High Mills Stadium.
Carver fell behind 16-0 in the first half.
But Romello Kimbrough scored a pair of short touchdowns late in the second quarter to bring the Tigers with three, 16-13, at halftime.
He scored on a 1-yard run with 2:41 left in the second quarter. Then after an interception, he scored on a 2-yard run.
Carver scored again in the second half on a Cameron Jessie 9-yard run and took a 20-13 lead.
The Tigers are 2-3 overall and 1-1 in Region 1-4A. They play Shaw on Sept. 30 at Memorial at 7:30 p.m.
Westover is 3-2 and 1-1.
