Kendrick’s Adayus Robertson scores a pair of touchdowns against Rutland
Kendrick’s Adayus Robertson scored a pair of touchdowns, but it wasn’t enough as the Cherokees fell 23-18 to Rutland on Thursday night at Henderson Stadium.
Navy Harris also scored a touchdown for the Cherokees.
Harris led Kendrick with 99 yards rushing on nine carries, Robertson had 90 yards on 19 carries.
Javier Turner had 15 tackles and Cincere Sellers added 11 for the Cherokees.
Kendrick had yet another game with 100-plus yards in penalties. A 15-yard personal foul penalty moved Rutland to the 5-yard line. Rutland scored the go-ahead touchdown on the next play with 2:35 left to play.
Kendrick, which is 0-6 overall and 0-2 in Region 4-3A, is off next week. The Ckerokees will play again Oct. 14 at Pike County.
