Harris County cruises past McIntosh in 5A state playoffs
The Harris County softball team swept McIntosh 9-0 and 8-0 in a pair of mercy-rule shortened games on Wednesday in the first round of the Class 5A state playoffs.
In the opener, Hannah Carroll and Lilly Hooper both hit three-run homers in a seven-run third inning.
In the second game, Morgan Charter drove in three runs for the Lady Tigers (17-8).
Harris County limited McIntosh to just five hits in the two games.
Harris County will either host Southwest DeKalb or travel to Carrollton in the second round, which will be played Oct. 19-20.
