Local runners compete in state cross country meets

The state cross country meets for Class A and 2A were held Friday.

In Class A-private, the Brookstone boys finished 12th with 290 points.

Caleb Pattillo was the Cougars’ top finisher with a time of 18:34.90. He finished 26th. Other Brookstone runners were Sid Saber (32nd, 18:41.78), Briggs Kalish (67th, 19:38.72), Ryan Drew (89th, 20:40.24) and Devon Foster (95th, 20:59.78).

In Class 2A, the Jordan boys came in 21st with 547 points and Spencer was 25th with 629. The Jordan girls were 22nd with 639 points.

Jordan’s Demarcus Boulware finished 40th in 19:58.15. Other Jordan runners were Quan Perryman-Henderson (56th, 20:15.90), Colin Dixon (120th, 21:39.66), Tyler Simmons (155th, 22;29.30) and Nathan Mort (189th, 23:49.84).

Spencer was led by Shaquile Harvey, who finished 109th in 21:30.22. Other Spencer runners were Isaiah Arredondo (121st, 21:42.88), Malik Milner (21:46.97), Jaylen Neal (143rd, 22;10.04) and Henry Felton (22;12.20).

The Jordan girls were led by Daneshia Murphy, who finished 109th in 28:48.77. Other Jordan runners were Cynthia Ulloa (112th, 28:57.71), Ariyana Thomas (141st, 30:44.18), McKenna Duke (154th, 32:11.65) and Kalie Mendoza (155th, 32:19.55).
