Columbus’ Salgado, Jordan’s Boulware victorious at cross country meet

Tuesday’s Muscogee County School District cross country meet at Kinnett Stadium saw one repeat winner and one race come down to the wire.

After setting the pace in a victory on Sept. 14, Columbus senior Alex Salgado did it again, winning the second race of the day. Salgado clocked in at 17:02.47, nearly six seconds faster than his time two weeks ago. Northside’s Jack Forbes, who also finished first in one of the races Sept. 14, finished second to Salgado.

Salgado and Forbes’ race closed what was a competitive afternoon at Kinnett. Jordan’s Demarcus Boulware edged out Hardaway’s Dominique Thomas by fourteen-hundredths of a second for first place. The duo set the pace for Race A, finishing ahead of third place by one minute and 18 seconds.
