Breaking: Carver boys basketball has new coach
Carver’s boys basketball team has its new coach.
Terry White, longtime Shaw Raiders basketball coach, will take the head coaching reins for the Tigers next season, White told the Ledger-Enquirer on Friday night.
White coached for 17 years at Shaw, according to MaxPreps, with an overall record of 254-189. He’s the winningest coach in Shaw basketball history.
“I graduated from Carver, I played basketball at Carver, it’s kinda coming full circle for me,” White said. “Me and (Carver Principal Chris Lindsey) have joked about me coming home for years. When that opportunity came, I couldn’t pass it up.”
White takes over a program that won the 2019 GHSA 4A state championship. The Tigers finished 16-10 (13-3) last season, falling in the first round of the state playoffs.
White replaces Warren Beaulah, who retired after the team’s most recent season.
