I know I mentioned some of the details from Carver's contract to air the Carver-LaGrange football game on Sept. 17 on ESPN2, but I finally got the LaGrange contract.
Here are some of the big points:
- LaGrange and Carver will be paid $1,000 apiece if the game airs on ESPN2 and $500 if for some reason it is changed to air on ESPNU.
- The marketing company this is being done through, Paragon Marketing, has the television and internet media rights to publicize the game.
- ESPN has the rights to the broadcast and future distribution of the game.
- The WCAG-33 TV's Georgia Football show may air the game the following day without royalty payments.
It looks like LaGrange may jump into the Class AAA top 10 this week, and Class AA's No. 2 Carver is very likely to be No. 1 after knocking off No. 1 Buford on Friday, so this one could be a cross-class top-10 matchup.
