Russell County hoops' Rodney Cooper showing up big for Warriors

Last night I finished up this story about the great season Russell County basketball star and Alabama signee Rodney Cooper is having (about 30 ppg, 12 rpg).

No sooner than I sign off for the day than Cooper scores a career-high 58 points against Tallassee. I'll say it again. Fifty-eight points.

This kid is nuts. I went out to cover Cooper and Russell County on Monday when the boys and girls teams hosted Enterprise, and I have to say I was very impressed with Cooper. He was sharp from the free-throw line, the field and beyond the 3-point arc, where he hit five shots to score 38 points.
