The Georgia high school all-star football team defeated Alabama 46-13 on Sunday afternoon in the third annual Georgia vs. Alabama Indoor Football Classic to remain undefeated in the series.
The Georgia defense scored the first eight points of the game on a fumble recover by Terrance Upshaw (Jordan) and a safety, and Dusty Swint (Heard County), Braxton Smith (LaGrange) and Detavis Buggs (Harris County) accounted for a pair of touchdowns apiece. Marquis Terrell (Callaway), Austin Scott (Hardaway) and Nick Eagle (Brookstone) hauled in a touchdown catch each.
Alabama got on the board with a 12-yard, first-half touchdown run by Breyuane Sanders (Robert E. Lee) and a 16-yard, second-half run by Derrick Johnson (Glenwood).
The indoor all-star game is put on each year by the Columbus Lions, who play the North Georgia Bulldogs at 7 p.m. tonight. Tickets from today’s indoor all-star game can be exchanged at the Civic Center box office for a free ticket to the Lions-Bulldogs game.
