Tony Dimitri
His twin brother, John, was a community coach leading the team under athletic director Gerald Turner for the previous three season. And their father, Anthony, was a member of the Red Jackets 1971 state championship team and was a coach and athletic director there for 18 years before his death in 2008.
“It’s home for me,” Tony said. “It was home for my dad, and my brother has been there, too. It’s just a great situation in a great place with people I already know.”
Tony and John are 1998 graduates of Jordan, where they played, and Tony also went on to play at CVCC. He finished up his degree at Columbus State and has been an assistant baseball coach at Monroe Area and Harris County.
