Northside had a pair of athletes place in the GHSA Class 5A state track meet on Thursday.
Jonathan Myrthil finished as the state runner-up in the 1,600-meter run with a time of 4-minutes, 18.78 seconds. Flowery Branch’s Jake Shewbert won at 4:11.64.
Cordale Scott finished fifth in the high jump.
Through Thursday’s seven finals, Northside is third in the team rankings with 12 points. Starr’s Mill is first with 34 and Flowery Branch has 17.5.

In Class 2A, Chattahoochee County’s Michael Guy finished fifth in the long jump at 21-feet, 9.5 inches.
In Class A-public, Marion’s County’s Mykelle Kelley finished seventh in the high jump at 5-10.
