Former Carver HC Kegler takes position at Stewart County
Former Carver football coach and athletic director Joe Kegler has accepted a position at Stewart County High, according to the school’s principal Joseph Gardner.
Kegler will be part-time coordinator of special education and part-time teacher and will join the football staff as the assistant head football coach.
Kegler coached Carver for three years, leading it to a 28-7 record. The team advanced to the state quarterfinals in 2013, his first season at the helm, but lost in the first round of the playoffs in both of the past two seasons. Carver decided to move on from Kegler in December after the end of the season and elevated Dre’Mail King to the position in March.
King will also be the school’s new athletic director.
