Shaw hires Tenn. HS coach as new AD, defensive coordinator

Shaw High has hired Al Pellegrino to be its new athletic director.

Pellegrino spent one season as the head football coach at Sycamore High (Tenn.) last year before accepting the AD position at Shaw, a school he attended when he was younger.

In addition to his role as athletic director, football coach Chuck Stamey also confirmed that he was taking over as defensive coordinator for the football team.

Pellegrino told The Tennessean that he would officially take over his new position at Shaw on Aug. 1.
