Kendrick vs. Shaw

When: 5 p.m.

Where: Kinnett Stadium.

Series record: Shaw leads 18-13, including 12 straight wins. The last meeting came in 2009, a 26-7 Shaw win. The last Kendrick win was 16-7 in 1995.

Records: Kendrick 0-2. Shaw 0-1.

Last week: Kendrick lost 38-12 to Troup. Shaw lost 23-13 to Upson-Lee.

You need to know: Both teams are looking for their first wins of the season. … This game was originally scheduled for 7:30 p.m., but it was moved up to 5 p.m. to allow the Carver-Douglas County game to move from Saturday to Friday. … Tickets are $10 and are good for both games. Gates will open at 4:15 p.m.


Columbus at Upson-Lee

When: 7:30 p.m.

Where: Matthews Field, Thomaston, Ga.

Series record: Upson-Lee leads 4-0 with the games being played between 2000-03.

Records: Columbus 1-0. Upson-Lee 1-0.

Last week: Columbus beat Jordan 62-21. Upson-Lee beat Shaw 23-13.

You need to know: Columbus is the second of three MCSD teams to travel to Thomaston this season. Shaw did so last week, and Jordan will go on Sept. 23. … The Blue Devils rolled up 453 yards rushing last week with Ty Lucas leading the way with 131. He and Ray Thornton scored two TDs apiece.


First Presbyterian at Brookstone

When: 7:30 p.m.

Where: Rex Knight Stadium.

Series record: First Presbyterian leads 1-0. The only meeting came in the first round of the 2012 state playoffs, a 49-33 FPD victory.

Records: First Presbyterian 1-0. Brookstone 1-0.

Last week: First Presbyterian beat Howard 34-14. Brookstone was idle.

You need to know: Russell Blanchard and Walker Cottrell scored twice each in Brookstone’s 49-32 win over Jordan two weeks ago.


Southwest-Macon at Manchester

When: 7:30 p.m.

Where: Memorial Stadium, Manchester, Ga.

Series record: Manchester leads 3-0 with the last meeting coming in 2002, a forfeit. Southwest won the game 33-13 but had to forfeit the win.

Records: Southwest-Macon 1-0. Manchester 2-0.

Last week: Southwest-Macon beat Westside-Macon 8-3. Manchester beat Luella 27-12.

You need to know: Manchester has scored 76 points in its two wins.


Lee-Scott at Calvary Christian

When: 7:30 p.m.

Where: Len McWilliams Field.

Series record: First meeting.

Records: Lee-Scott 0-1. Calvary Christian 1-1.

Last week: Lee-Scott lost 21-14 to Monroe Academy. Calvary Christian lost 22-17 to Glenwood.

You need to know: Tredrick Wilburn has rushed for 206 yards for Calvary Christian. Kasen Andrews has thrown for 426 yards and four touchdowns.


Carver vs. Douglas County

When: 8 p.m.

Where: Kinnett Stadium.

Series record: First meeting.

Records: Carver 1-1. Douglas County 1-0.

Last week: Carver beat Spencer 26-0. Douglas County beat Lithia Springs 47-0.

You need to know: Cameron Jessie has rushed for 233 yards this season, while Romello Kimbrough has 134. Xaiyhir Jacobs has thrown for 224 yards and three touchdowns. … Douglas County receiver Christian Jackson caught three passes for 123 yards against Lithia Springs. Quarterback Deven Williams completed 6-of-8 passes for 197 yards and two TDs. … The game was originally scheduled for Saturday, but it was moved to Friday to become the second game of a doubleheader at Kinnett Stadium. A $10 ticket is good for both games. Gates will open at 4:15 p.m.


Auburn at Central

When: 8 p.m.

Where: Garrett-Harrison Stadium.

Series record: Central leads 33-14-3, including a 27-24 win last season.

Records: Auburn 1-1, 0-0 Region 2-7A. Central 1-1, 0-0.

Last week: Auburn lost 28-0 to Opelika. Central beat Fairfield 36-0.

You need to know: Central starts its bid for a third straight region championship, which the Red Devils did only once before in 1993-95. … Central quarterback Zion Webb has thrown for 248 yards and rushed for 100 more. Justyn Ross has cauight five passes for 120 yards. Jaxton Carson has rushed for 132 yards.


Jeff Davis at Smiths Station

When: 8 p.m.

Where: Panther Stadium, Smiths Station, Ala.

Series record: Smiths Station leads 3-1, including a 29-26 win last season.

Records: Jeff Davis 1-1, 0-0 Region 2-7A. Smiths Station 1-1, 0-0.

Last week: Jeff Davis beat Carver Montgomery 35-19. Smiths Station beat Dothan 20-9.

You need to know: This is the Region 2-7A opener for both teams. … Smiths Station quarterback Jay Roberts threw a touchdown pass last week against Dothan in the first quarter, but he left the game with an injury. … Joe Lewis rushed for 74 yards in the win.


Russell County at Dothan

When: 8 p.m.

Where: Rip Hewes Stadium, Dothan, Ala.

Series record: Dothan leads 8-0, including a 41-0 victory in 2015.

Records: Russell County 0-2, 0-0 Region 2-6A. Dothan 0-2, 0-0.

Last week: Russell County lost 21-20 to Valley. Dothan lost 20-9 to Smiths Station.

You need to know: Russell County’s losing streak has now stretched to 24 games.


Glenwood at Northside Methodist

Where: Dothan, Ala.

Series record: First meeting.

Records: Glenwood 1-0. Northside Methodist 2-0.

Last week: Glenwood beat Calvary Christian 22-17. Northside Methodist beat Abbeville Christian 32-27.

You need to know: Kashe Boatner rushed for 200 yards and two touchdowns in Glenwood’s win over Calvary Christian last week.
