Braves add Lowe to rotation

The Atlanta Braves and free-agent pitcher Derek Lowe have agreed on a four-year contract worth about $60 million, published reports say.

Lowe, 36, who pitched for the Los Angeles Dodgers last year, would join Javier Vazquez, Jair Jurrjens and recent acquisition Kenshin Kawakami in the Braves rotation next year. Atlanta recently lost John Smoltz, who signed with the Boston Red Sox.
