Braves trade Heyward to Cardinals
The Atlanta Braves have parted ways with right-fielder Jason Heyward, trading him and right-handed reliever Jordan Walden to the St. Louis Cardinals, the team announced Monday.
In return, the Braves received starter Shelby Miller and minor-league pitcher Tyrell Jenkins.
Miller, 24, is 26-18 with a 3.33 ERA in 63 starts and six relief appearances,
He went 10-9 with a 3.74 ERA last season. in 2013, he was 15-9 with a 3.06 ERA with 169 strikeouts in 171 1-3 innings.
Jenkins went 6-5 in 13 starts for Class A Palm Beach last season.
