Braves promote Michael O’Neal, who makes debut Wednesday
The Atlanta Braves promoted Michael O’Neal to Advanced-A Carolina Mudcats on Tuesday night.
He made his debut Wednesday. He pitched two innings in relief in the Mudcats’ game against Salem. He gave up two runs on two hits and two walks. The Mudcats lost the game 5-1.
O’Neal, who played at Pacelli, CVCC and Auburn, was signed by the Braves as a free agent late last year.
O’Neal helped lead Pacelli to a state championship in 2008.
The Braves had assigned O’Neal to their Low-A affiliate in Danville before Tuesday’s promotion.
