New league delays training camps
The United National Gridiron League has pushed back the start of training camp, according to an e-mail reportedly sent to players Tuesday night and posted online at ungleague.com.
Players were scheduled to report to camp Friday, but the e-mail instructs them to wait for more information from the UNGL before leaving their homes.
“At this point, camp will not be starting this Friday January 23rd and we are looking toward announcing a new report date during the upcoming week,” the e-mail states. “In the meantime, DO NOT make any travel arrangements until you receive notification from the UNGL Front Office.”
The e-mail was sent to players by UNGL executive vice president for football operations Nick Saraceni, according to the posting online.
UNGL representatives did not return phone calls or e-mails Wednesday.
Meanwhile, an Ohio newspaper reported earlier this week that former Arkansas assistant coach Alex Wood would be the Columbus coach.
