Carr shoots 9-over-par 81 in unfinished first round of U.S. Junior Amateur
Columbus’ Ben Carr shot a 9-over-par 81 in the first round of stroke play in the 2016 U.S. Junior Amateur on Monday.
The tournament is being played on the Honors Course.
Due to a lengthy rain delay in the afternoon, play in the first round was not completed. Play was suspended at 8:51 p.m. due to darkness.
When play was suspended, Carr was tied for 130th, and there were 64 players at 2-over or better.
The second and final round of stroke play will be held Tuesday. The low 64 scorers will advance to match play to determine the champion.
There are 156 players in the field.
