Peachtree Mall is ready to fill another spot in its lineup, with an escape room now under construction in the former Picadilly Cafeteria space around the corner from Dillard’s.

All In Adventures — which has 32 locations in 15 states and another 13 venues “coming soon” — is expected to open in a few weeks in a 5,381-square-foot space inside the 3131 Manchester Expressway mall. A city building permit shows All in Adventures spending $50,000 to outfit its new location.

“I think it’s going to bring a lot of families and groups to the mall because they’re going to have, I think, 10 escape rooms and they’re different sizes,” Peachtree Mall general manager TaVida Rice said Monday. “You can book a party in there and eat and have fun while people are going into different rooms and solving puzzles and things.”

All In Adventures did not immediately respond to phone and email messages seeking comment about its plans. Its website kicks off with a video that asks the question: You’re trapped in a room. But can you get out?

“All In Adventures offers our guests the chance to become real-life detectives during an interactive and immersive escape room experience,” the company says of how escape rooms work. “With 50-minutes on the clock, guests must find clues, solve puzzles, and decipher hidden codes to escape the themed room of their choice.”

The themed rooms include Superhero’s Adventure, Hollywood Premiere, Escape From Alcatraz, Black Ops, Special Agent, Treasure Island, Houdinis Magic Cell, Pharoah’s Tomb, Sherlocks Library and Zombie Apocalypse.

There are multiple skill levels for various age groups, the website says, with a new game experience making its debut every 18 weeks. Corporate team events also are among All In Adventure’s offerings.

Its only Georgia location is inside Sugarloaf Mills Mall in Lawrenceville, on Atlanta’s northeast side. Hours for that venue are 10 a.m. to 9 a.m. daily except Sunday, when it operates noon to 6 p.m. Ticket prices start at $20.75 per person, with private rooms for 10 at $179 and change.

The location inside Peachtree Mall will be outside the west entrance of Dillard’s, tucked just off the court where Picadilly operated until its closure in 2012.

“Just in case you haven’t noticed, escape rooms have become super popular over the last couple of years,” the All In Adventures site says. “People of all different ages and backgrounds have found themselves enjoying the thrill and challenge of trying to escape one or more of our rooms.”

Rice is working to fill multiple open storefronts in the mall, most of them in the JCPenney wing, and expects to sign a large tenant in the coming days. She said Tuesday that a hair salon is being lined up in one vacant space adjacent to the Lids retail store.
