Up until just a few days before her death, 83-year-old Bobbie Anne Dahl was active at Rivertown School of Beauty, Barber, Skin Care & Nails teaching students.

“This place was her passion,” said her granddaughter, Jennifer Jones, director of the business on Hamilton Road in Columbus.

Dahl, owner of Rivertown, which she opened in 1992, died June 14 at her home in Midland.

Her funeral was June 17 at Parkhill Cemetery with pastor Judy Hay officiating.

“She meant so much to so many people,” Jones said. “She wanted our students to succeed and trained them to do so.”

Dahl worked in the beauty industry for 43 years.

Jones said it was Dahl who started Southeastern Beauty School, which she sold. Dahl later opened LaGrange Beauty College.

“She was a loving mother, loving grandmother and loving business owner,” Jones said.

Dahl was a native of Columbus. She was preceded in death by her husband retired Lt. Col. Winston A. Dahl.

She is survived by four daughters and two sons.

Jones is one of five grandchildren.

“We take pride in our graduates at Rivertown,” Jones said. “We will continue the good work here and make her proud.”
