Police investigating two burglaries at Buena Vista Road beauty salons

Columbus police are investigating two burglaries that occurred early Thursday at two beauty salons on Buena Vista Road.

Authorities said they were called to Natalie's Beauty Salon at 3580 Buena Vista Road around 1:20 a.m. Thursday after its alarm was activated. It’s unclear at this time if anything was stolen, but there was forced entry into the business around 1:10 a.m.

No arrests have been made in connection with the incident, which police described as a smash-and-grab.

The second burglary happened later that day around 4:20 a.m. at Hair in Motion. Officials were called to the scene at 3640 Buena Vista Road No.3 after an individual was seen crawling out of the window.

Destry Paige, 46, was arrested in connection with the second break-in and charged with burglary, possession of tools during the commission of a crime and possession of drug-related objects. He was transported to the Muscogee County Jail.

His preliminary hearing was set for 8 a.m. this morning Columbus Recorder’s Court.
